I hope someone can help me. When I turn on my computer I get a message for incorrect logon details. But thats even before I get where I would log myself on. I cannot find where to fix this particular fault. It is not in Users etc.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
what version of Windows is it? it must be Windows because this would not happen with a Mac :-)
The problem arises almost immediately after start-up. Before I need to logon with my normal password.
sorry for the long delay.. what is the exact wording of the message? i'll look it up for you..
where exactly does it ask for a password?..... it sounds like either BIOS/CMOS or a bootloader, though I wouldn't put money on it.
Sorry for the delay. The exact fault message I get reads;
Logon Message
The system could not log you on, make sure your User Name and domain are correct, then type your password again, letters in passwords must be typed using the correct case.
The problem is, I cannot change any password in Users and are not sure where else to go.
could be lots of things, but check this first:
Open your "My Computer", and where the drive letters are listed, see if there are any 'network' drives listed - (drives other than your own hard drive and CDROM) - if there are any, right-click and select "disconnect" (or remove, or whatever it says) on the popup menu.. then reboot and see if that helps..
the problem could also be in your network settings.. have you/do you use this computer to connect to your business network, or some other network?
