Did Blackberry application loophole get fixed?

I've been able to view my target's private comments and friends (she has myspace 2.0 and has all these things marked as private when I try viewing them on the computer) through my Blackberry Curve application for the past month or so but just yesterday I noticed the options to view comments and friends were gone... she hasn't changed it to 1.0 so is anyone else having this problem?

I don't think that's a loophole so much as a privacy setting. On 2.0 you can set your "Profile on Mobile" settings, even if on the computer they're private. It's possible she set her mobile settings to "friends only"

The "profile on mobile settings" are for the "view more info" link on mobile. It applies to blurbs - about me - details - status - etc. It doesn't apply to friend or comments.

It was confusing to me too until myspace made it more clear the other day by rewording it better for us -

They are making us confused by making so many changes. I'm not really that into myspace anymore because I have no real targets but I like to fiddle with it for fun :)

Re: Did Blackberry application loop get fixed?

Yes.. there was a loophole and I posted about it a few weeks ago but I don't think I worded it right.. I for some reason couldn't explain myself right... the post was made here.. (http://www.grownupgeek.com/0421009031daec) haha but for ANYONE that had myspace 2.0, I could view their comments and friends and everything even if they had their things to private on my Blackberry Curve Myspace application. For example, if I tried viewing my target's comments on my computer (I'm not their friend), I would get the usual "Comments are private. Add "XXXXXXXXX" as a friend to view comments." And I even tried with mine.. I made mine 2.0 and my comments and friends and the whole "phone" privacy setting thing were all set to private.  Everything on the Privacy settings page was set to private... and I could view my comments, friends, everything.. for that reason I went back to 1.0. But.. now I can't seem to make it work.. the options don't come up like they used to :/ I'm hoping its just temporary but I doubt it..

It was the actual Myspace application... the one I downloaded from the Blackberry website for the curve... when someone writes you or comments you or whatever, the little myspace symbol would pop up as a message on my phone instead of sending me an email.. it makes myspace easier to naviate on blackberrys

I know exactly wat you are talking about! I noticed the same thing for the myspace application for Iphone.  It must have been patched, because my targets profile says that it hasnt been updated in about a month.

My targets profile was private on m.myspace.com, but I was able to view it through the myspace application.

I noticed that too. It's probably because when you make privacy setting changes - it doesn't change your "update" date. Myspace should go back to the way they were because if they are making US confused - just think how the general population of myspace users are like totally confused about it. Most 2.0 profile users have parts of their profiles exposed and they don't even know it because myspace 2.0 profiles have to make changes twice to ensure their own privacy. Not wise if they are trying to compete with facebook's reputable security. This is all IMHO only.

Ok -  I have an idea about what was going on.

Bear with me as I try to explain - Ok - When you view a myspace 2.0 profile on myspace.com (not m.myspace.com) you can always see the first page of their profile even if you view myspace.com from a cellphone (again - not m.myspace.com)  - hmmm how do I explain it - I'm talking about the first page you see when you click to view someone's profile. That page will show everything besides the things they removed when they remove "modules" in the profile editor - profile editor is different than privacy settings where you check and uncheck boxes. Keep in mind there are two times a person with 2.0 needs set areas to friends only - once in privacy settings and once in profile editor. Big myspace goofup there!  See - if they went to account privacy settings and checked boxes for "friends only" - the things will still show up on the first page of their profile - until they remove the modules from within profile editor. I've seen top friends and first page of comments on many 2.0 profiles - but you can't click to see more if they checked "friends only" in account privacy setting. Doh!This is getting confusing. To sum it up - even if someone checks the boxes for "friends only" in privacy settings - you can still see parts of them on the first page of a profile until they go into the profile editor and actually remove the modules from their first page. It sounds like she finally removed those modules. I hope I explained it enough. I was bored recently and checked this stuff out. I made a post about it - but I can't find it.

This only works if you have a blackberry, right? m.myspace.com was actually good because it worked from the PC.
