New Member.. Retired IT Professinal. Knitting/Crocheting can only be done for so long!

I have been retired from IT profession since 2004. I had been active in the field for 24 years...... I started as a computer programmer and when I retired had climbed the old ladder to IT Director.  I had to retire due to health issues.

I am starting to miss it now, or else my meds are working and I am just feeling better. I have lost out on alot of developments in the past few years... so hoping to have a  place to stay better educated on IT. Knitting/Crocheting can only be done for so long!

Looking forward to being online....

OK, ok, I'll admit I'm really behind times.  I don't know a thing about knitting or chrocheting (sp??), and, come to think of it, I don't know a whole lot about computers, either.  However, I get some satisfaction from learning something new, like how to post a picture on this forum, and how to get a really good picture of myself just under my name.  So, welcome aboard.  Maybe you can teach me to knit or crochet.

I used to watch my sister knit or crochet (whatever you do with just one needle), and it reminded me of the way I reel in a long extension cord).  The cord, when reeled in looks like it's full of knots, but you can undo the knot at the beginning end, and undo it much more easily the next time you use it, and it's not really all knotted up.  Is that what it's like?

One hook is crochet, 2 needles is knitting, and yeah, that's kinda how it's done, just one big, continuous knot, but if you pull it from the end, it'll come apart easily.
