We started seeing commercials for the "Prince of Persia Lego Set" 2 months ago.. We had no idea what "prince of persia" was all about, but my little boy insisted on having the Lego set. Just last week we finally saw a commercial for the movie, so now it all makes sense.. but my boy didnt seem to interested in seeing the movie..

Actually prince of persia is a video game. They have a trilogy prince of persia sand of time first game and the movie is about that game. The second one is Prince of persia warrior within and the third one is Prince of persia the two trones.

It is cool game.

I played it on Nintendo in the late 90's. I have not played it on any newer game systems.

Jake Gyllenhaal is pretty darn close to the Prince from the Sands of Time video game, the same can be said for Ben Kingsley as the Vizier.

But Gemma Arteton bears little resemblance to Farah from Sands of Time, the character itself is also quite different, that's probably why they changed her name to Tamina. Which is odd because she was one of the only characters that even had a name in the original Sands of Time, I think the only other was King Sharaman. The Prince was always just “The Prince”, the Maharajah was “The Maharajah” and the Vizier was simply, and I bet you've guessed where I'm going with this, “The Vizier”. So it's odd that they would make up a name when the work had already been done for them. But as I said before, it's probably not because they needed to, but because they changed the character so dramatically.
