The Carter's has oats is a new one to me . I always heard " Carter has pills" meaning a lot of something. I would like to know if anyone has ever heard the saying "get on the stick"? My Mom always says it when she wants you to hurry up. Why would that be?

Stick shift. Similar to saying "get your a$$ in gear".
"You'd be looking groovy in a sixties movie. Maybe tell the press you died?
Little legend baby, try your very best to hide a green-tinted sixties mind"
When we lived in NC, the locals liked to say "might could", as in "We might could do that". Can be used for anything from maybe, to we'll try, to we can, to "we will, if things work out and I want to"!
In Philly we have our own way of saying things. How about when ordering cheesteaks if you don't order it the right way you may not get one. Let me get a whiz wit. Provey wit..... etc. Cheese of choice first and wit means you want onions wit it:) I heard an expression on the radio the other day. I have an idea of what it means, but have never heard it. Anyone?? Hop off chief your bruisin! First for me.
My dad is 90 and has said things such as ...if,dog,rabbit and clumsier than Adams off ox....and blacker than the inside of a burnt boot ..bigger than Cuffee ..haven't seen you since Hector was a pup..etc. Any ideas about these sayings?
my grandmother (from NY) used to say "....more than Carter's got liver pills." i use it but really have no idea behind its meaning.
~No pressure, no diamonds.~
