i got to visit San Antonio before.  it was awesome.  i really liked the Tex-Mex food.  visiting the Alamo was way cool too.  the underground caverns were really impressive, i think i still have a geode i got from the gift shop.  i made a point to go to New Braunfels to the schlitterbahn waterpark.  they had the very first stationary wave machine that could generate a tube to surf.

oh i forgot, i used to buy this soda there called like 'big red' or something.  it came in a glass large bottle and tasted like bubble gum.  ive never seen it anywhere else.

I never knew people hadn't heard of Big Red... Wiki says it's only distributed to 43 states.... *shrugs*

Soda talk made me think of Surge... anyone remember that?? Wiki says Vault is sort of a Surge replacement.... I remember drinking Surge before soccer practice when I was in 5th grade.... sugar rush :)

Re: San Antonio, Texas

... just thought of this, and saw Vash mentioned it already...

*DOH* I feel like  a moron for not  mentioning the Alamo...

By the way... the Alamo is small... like... a LOT smaller than you think... just so ya know lol

San Antonio is like... the 'best kept secret' of Texas... it gives you Big City life without Big-City Haste... it's laid back, yet full of life... and if you don't like big-city life... riiiight outside the city is great and calm.... like country life? we've got nearby cities (La Vernia, Adkins, McQueeny) that aren't city-like at all....... the coast is 3 hours away.... we've got lakes close by... it's just a great central area...

And... as far as I know I think they do still dye the water in the riverwalk green on st. pattys..... but I don't go there much so I can't be positive...

Speaking of things we have that others don't... It still trips me out that most people that haven't been to Texas don't know what H-E-B is.... headquarters is in good ole San Antonio :)

I believe in Texas it's as common as Walmart ....
