I find a good nights sleep definitely helps with appetite, you feel less peckish throughout the day. It's easy for me to say though, I don't have any kids to keep me up.

i've never had an interest in dieting or keep fit until recently. I don't need to lose weight but need to lose fat. I just want to tone up. I dont drink fizzy stuff or eat desert or cakes etc [although i do now and then eat chocolate] but i just stay the same...a little blub on me. i've switched to healthier diets i.e. adding more veg and fruit but nothing has changed [after 3 weeks] tho i admit i feel healthier and less tired. i've gone naughtier now....sigh!

i think i just need to do more exercise but i find it boring and only do it on the weekends. If only i can make it routine!

I agree with you. exercise is not the most exciting thing, but it definately pays off. What I would recommend is try to relate exercise with something that interests you. For example, I LOVE to DANCE, so I do these workout videos called Hip-hop abs and they work great! Any physical activity will help you tone up. whether you walk, jog, run, ride a bike, play a sport, clean, dance, just make sure to be consistent (something i have trouble with) and you will def. see results in a few weeks. If you work out before breakfast 30-45mins 5-4 days a week you're good, and if you do it in the evening do 45-60 mins 5 days a week. Make sure at least 30mins of that is cardio. Also, just keep a healthy balanced meal and make sure to included veggies, fruit and water (which you are already doing) and don't skip a meal because that will just work against you.

the bit about skipping meals.....it just showed how new i was with all this calorie and dieting. When i first decided to tone up, i did situps and non cardio exercises when i wasn't feeling lazy. I also skipped meals. i didnt realise that skipping meals would make the body"burn" muslce rather than fat [please correct me here] until i read about.

I know i lack motivation an i come and go in phases [mainly because i give up when i dont think anything is working and i just accept i'll never get the blubber off me]. 

can i ask, how do you monitor how much you have burnt or whether you are under or over achieving your goal? Thats my problem i think with my motivation. I'm just doing this blindly....still a newbie i guesss.

yes you are right, skipping meals would burn muscle instead of body fat, my cousin is a nutritionist and educated me on all of this. You could keep a journal on what you have consumed for each day, and work with it. I try to plan my meals and balance them out. Balance out good carbs from bad carbs (yes there are some good carbs, corn is a carb but contains protein, fiber, and minerals). Make sure to include veggies and fruit in my everyday intake (there are good fruits and bad...bananas have a lot of calories whereas apples don't and are healthier for you) fruit is fruit but there are healthier fruits then others. Drink water, stay away from sugared drinks. And just exercise, i have learned that exercise is key. thanks bella. after a naughty week, i'm going to go back to healthy and get myself into a routine which i find hard. May have to print out a humongous poster of someone with a nice body to spur me lol. I need to get off my bum and not just saying that i will.

Yes,If you are right low calorie intake in our diet you would lose 1 pounds in week. I think most of the people and also me underestimate how much they eat during the day. Even When I read the 10 tips to lose weight . By followed these tips I managed to lose 20 lbs.

I'm just going to throw this out here for the heck of it.

 

For lent this year, I fasted. Thats right, didn't eat ANYTHING solid for a period of about 45 days. All I had water and soup broth every blue moon. I dropped 50 pounds and kept 20 of it off.

I love to eat! So I have to exercise, although right now I want to fit in a certain dress and am watching what I eat. Jilian Michaels Shred program is amazingly easy to stick with and it works. Exercise on Demand carries it. It's a 20 minute workout that you can stick with...
