Update on Profiletracker.us

I looked and didn't see anything about this yet, I just hope I didn't overlook it, but I logged onto Profiletracker when I went home at lunch and apparently they've added a new code update to track Firefox users. I assume this would only apply if they haven't used the Firefox ad-on to block trackers. Anway, when I read the forum about it, I was a little leary about additing it just yet. Has anybody else updated their profile and if so, how is it working?

Re: Update on Profiletracker.us

I need to explain myself better (apparently I need to look at my spelling a little better too - "additing" - what was I thinkin'). I did find the forum on Profiletracker. I was hoping I hadn't overlooked something here at GuG. Sometimes I just have those "duh" moments. Since yours seems to be working I suppose I'll bite the bullet and try to update mine this afternoon. Wish me luck! You would think the people using Firefox would block trackers, but my trackspace picks up quite a few hits from Firefox users. Maybe they're having "duh" moments too? (Not that I'm complaining!!!)

Good luck!

They probably don't know that it's even possible to block trackers.  I didn't, until i found this site, and I had been using Firefox for almost 2 years at that point.

Re: Update on Profiletracker.us

Since we've mentioned Firefox versus IE, I have another issue. I usually use IE to look at my Trackspace hits because looks odd in Firefox. Not a problem, I can live with that. Same with Firefox, but I got a GENIUS idea today (yeah right - ha). I figured I'd pull up profile tracker in IE and if I had views from people I didn't know, then I'd sign on to profile tracker in Firefox to view their profile from there to avoid THEIR trackers. Works in theory - right? Not so in actuality. I can sign on to profiletracker in Firefox, but when I look at my tracker status I get nothing. It tells me how many I have, but no pictures, no IP address, no error message, nothing. Just a blank page below the heading. Is there any way I can get around this or is this something I've done wrong? I realize I can just write down all the Friend ID's and look at them that way, but that DOES involve several additional steps (yeah I can be a whiner too - again, just ask my kids for confirmation), but it's just so much easier to point and click.

Re: Update on Profiletracker.us

You said you redid the codes, right? Because I haven't redone mine yet, and that's how my page is showing, too. I'm going to redo my codes now and I'll let you know how it goes. juliek

Re: Update on Profiletracker.us

Honestly I changed the codes on Friday Night. I can no longer track Firefox at all. Which kinda sucks. But I have found that 90% of my hits are all coming from IE anyway. Which Terikan sais would probably happen anyway.

After seeing all of the problems that everyone is having after putting in the new Firefox Click code. I am staying put! Mu page looks great. I'm still tracking almost everyone, if not tracking any better then before! So why bother...Rght? Besides with the way myspace changes everything all the time anymore I am sure there will be another change soon...

As 4 getting a blank tracker page when you log on thru Firefox. If you have the blocker for profiletracker.us it will come up blank. You have to unblock that page. Thats if I read that question right! LoL...I pulled a 12 hours shift today so sorry if I misunderstood the question.

Hope thats helps!!

Re: Update on Profiletracker.us

Ah ha!! It all becomes clear. I do have my blocker on so that answers that question (yes you did read it right - sorry about the 12 hour shift). I too get 90% of my hits from IE, so I think I'll just hold off on the click code too (at least for a few more days until curiosity gets the best of me). I believe I'd rather jump on the band-wagon a day or two late rather than take a chance of the wagon hurtling over the cliff with me aboard (boy, I think I'm pretty tired too. I'm not sure if that one even made sense to ME. LoL.) These trackers can get a little addictive. I got mine solely for the intention of seeing how often my ex looks at the space (pretty darn often!), but was surprised by a couple of other people skulking around my page too. It's not really a big deal because I try not to put anything on there that I would not want to become public; it's more curiosity than anything else. (Although, don't tell, but since I know about my "stalkers (ha ha)" I have put a few things on there just to bug them. If you give them a little bogus information, it's absolutely AMAZING how quickly they'll take that ball and run with it. Did I mention that I can be easily amused? Is that mean of me?) These trackers really are sorta addictive though. Wonder if there's a 12-step program?

Re: Update on Profiletracker.us

You can probably remove profiletracker.us from your filter list without any problems. I don't think it was ever used in a tracking code.

Re: Update on Profiletracker.us

*giggles* Reason my profile is Public. Everything on there is what I wantcertain people to see, the rest it would mean nothing to anywayz!

Glad you figured it out! :) And its a good thing we held off on the codes for now, because it looks like there not working again from a post i just read! Theres to many problems with that mess..

BUT on a brighter note! IE is still trackin wonderfully!! :)

Re: Update on Profiletracker.us

Im thinking about subscribing to profiletracker.us . I really hope it is as good as everyone says. Also what are their payment options?

Re: Update on Profiletracker.us

Paypal is the only payment option they offer. I sent them a message when I was first thinking of joining because I had never used Pay Pal and was a little nervous about it. So far so good for me (knock on wood). I really do like profile tracker. The code instructions seemed a tad confusing at first, but you just really have to pay attention to what the instructions say - to the letter. I had trouble with my codes initially, but I just posted to their forum and someone helped me in, literally, minutes.
