So, I have a situation involving my best friend. She and her husband have verizon, he always kept his phone locked and never let her access his phone for any reason. Include that with a lot of other suspicious activity - and it really seems like there is something he is hiding. She finally took a stand and said that she should have access to his phone, so he took the lock off - but, erased all the text/imessage history. And, since then, each time she has a chance to look through his phone, it is all erased. He finally gave her the log in information for their verizon account so she could add some info in their for a work discount on their bill - and she realized that she can see the numbers that he has texted - she can't see the text content, but she can see the numbers, and it is clear that he has been texting a woman from work A LOT. Over the last 30 days, he has sent this woman over 2000 texts. However, when she goes to view the actual texts through verizon's website, it says that imessages wont be displayed.
Is there a way she can see the content of these messages through the icloud?
No.. Txt messages do not travel over or have anything to do with iCloud.
If these were iMessages, sent between two iPhones, she could potentially see them if she configured an iDevice or Mac with the iCloud info. But for regular SMS/TXT messages on iCloud, NO - UNLESS she was able to turn on Text Message Forwarding on the iPhone (Google it for how it works) - but that would be near impossible to do without him knowing.
It might be worth a quick phone call to Verizon to ask if the history of the actual text/SMS messages can be made available.
But, for what it's worth, over 2K messages to a woman in ONE month? Why bother.. It's obvious.
Thank you. The messages between the two of them are showing up in the record of what number he has been texting, and there it displays as the type was a text - yet, when you go to the vtext.com webapp though it doesn't display any history with that number, so we assumed they were iMessages - since it said iMessages wouldn't display in that app. He has probably just cleaned up his tracks well.
And, I completely agree. I think the sheer volume is pretty telling in itself.
I messages won't show on the bill at all.
On MyVerizon I discovered that all the texts for the first number on our account are available to be read - even the photos that were sent to & from that number to other numbers.
1. How can I turn this off so they're NOT stored in the web in MyVerizon
2. How can I see the other number's texts, I can't see anywhere to switch between the two devices and see this same screen.
Neither of us want this available online. help!
I just had a similar issue with integrated messaging on two phones on my account and Verizon had to remove them from both phones and they told me to make sure I am using Samsung messaging.
