viewing a profile with a tracker from Google's cache

If you view a page with a tracker on it from google's cache would it be reported to the person and if so, exactly how ? If the page was cached two or three, or even four months ago would it still be recorded and reported in real time ? Hope I made sense, thanks for any replies.

I don't think it would, cause you're viewing a google page, not an actual myspace page. But if I'm wrong I'm sure someone who knows more will jump in. That is a good question though.....

No you are correct, it is a cached image of the page on the google server, I am not sure though what happens if you click any links on that page though I think if you do that you would be sent to the real pages URL for that link, and then yes you would be tracked

Thanks jewels and foambrush. What made me ask is that I did view a page cached in November and this person had a counter on their page marking the days till their graduation in June. But it was working in real time, counting about four and a half months till the date. And I still don't get how if you're viewing it from google, you get a myspace cookie.

This was a good question, i didn't know yet. So i tried it out and all the images on cached pages i've looked at are loaded from their original location. That means that google only puts the html code for a page in the cache but not the files that it uses (images, mp3s, videos etc). Basically you do get tracked because you still download the tracker file from the tracker site.

There can even be old trackers that still work from the cache because myspace hadn't filtered their codes yet.
