Re: What! No Santa?

Hmmm Not sure at exactly what age I asked my parents, I coulnd't have been more than 6 or 7 though. It was at that point a rhetorical question since I already knew that it was impossibe for one guy to visit all those houses in the world in one night(I was a sharp little guy)

I do remember though that it didn't matter at all, Christmas time never lost its spirit or charm for me, even to this day :)

What! No Santa?

so last night mini and i were watching polar express and she dropped the "no santa" bomb on me. i was floored because this time she meant it. eleven years old and in grade five. done. poof! i was crushed yet amused at her "heard it on the playground mommy....it's all the buzz right now here!"

no, of course not. yes, age was the factor. if you could have heard her grownup like voice of reasoning as if she were trying to let me down gently. it was a life experience and i wish husband of mine was here to have heard it. she also said, "but i have no problem pretending for you at christmas time mommy. it'll be okay."

i do not look forward to this right of passage for sure but it sounds like youve got a wonderful relationship and a pretty smart young one! now just think, teenager-hood is right around the corner. =)

i was watching Polar Express last nite also!  and i still believe in Santa.  lol.

no seriously, aww that must have been a little hard on you to hear.  but, at least she wasn't upset or anything.  now she can better appreciate the effort her mommy, and not Santa, puts in to picking out her wonderful Christmas presents.
