Music is always on in my home, cars, gym, and every chance and place I get! So today for me was 80's day on the iPod and treadmill. Of course I'm singing at the top of my lungs, just waking up the neighborhood, so I've been told. And I got to wondering.....what song best describes me? So I spent the remaining 60-minutes attempting to narrow it down to at least 5. So for the current "here and now," I'll go with:
- "Material Girl" - Madonna
- "Vogue" - Madonna
- "Comfortably Numb" - Pink Floyd
- "Semi Charmed Life" - Third Eye Blind
- "The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me Is You" - Bryan Adams
Or maybe I'm just partial to these songs because they are in my playlist? Hmm. What song(s) best describe you?
"God save the Queen" by the Sex pistols
If love is the answer can someone please rephrase the question for me...
"Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis
"No Woman No Cry" Bob Marley
Scars by Papa Roach
I am always going all out to help others but I seem to get hurt and used in the end....
I can't say there's any one song that describes me, it's more like snippets of random lyrics....
I believe I've passed the age of consciousness and righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight
I once believed in causes too
I had my pointless point of view
And life went on no matter who was wrong or right
*Billy Joel, Angry Young Man
You'd be looking groovy in a 60's movie
Baby tell the press you died
Little legend baby, try your very best to hide
Your green-tinted 60's mind
*Mr. Big, Green Tinted 60's Mind
I had to let it happen, I had to change
Couldn't stay all my life down at heel
Looking out of the window, staying out of the sun
So I chose freedom
Running around, trying everything new
But nothing impressed me at all
I never expected it too
*Andrew Lloyd Webber, Evita Soundtrack
To the gypsy
That remains
She faces freedom
With a little fear
Well I have no fear
I have only love
*Fleetwood Mac, Gypsy
They say there's a heaven for those who will wait.
Some say it's better but I say it ain't.
I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.
The sinners are much more fun
*Billy Joel, Only the Good Die Young
When I think back
On all the crap I learned in high school
It's a wonder
I can think at all
And I know my lack of education
Hasn't hurt me none
I can read the writing on the wall
*Paul Simon, Kodachrome
Just when you think you've got me figured out
The season's already changing
I think it's cool you do what you do and don't try to save me
I'm a beeeiotch
I'm a lover
I'm a child
I'm a mother
I'm a sinner
I'm a saint
I do not feel ashamed
I'm your hell
I'm your dream
I'm nothing in between
You know you wouldn't want it any other way
*Meredith Brooks, beeeiotch
All your life you've had to stand in line
Still you're standing on your feet,
All your choices made you change your mind
Now your calender's complete
Don't wait for answers, just take your chances
Don't ask me why
*Billy Joel, Don't Ask Me Why
Look around me,
I can see my life before me,
Running rings around the way it used to be.
I am older now,
I have more than what I wanted,
But I wished that I had started
Long before I did…
And there’s so much time to make up
Everywhere you turn,
Time we have wasted on the way.
So much water moving
Underneath the bridge,
Let the water come & carry us away
*Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Wasted on the Way
And, what kind of Jersey Girl would I be without a Bruce tune?
Well now I'm no hero
That's understood
All the redemption I can offer you
Is beneath this dirty hood
With a chance to make it good somehow
Hey what else can we do now?
Except roll down the window
And let the wind blow
Back your hair
Well the night's busting open
These two lanes will take us anywhere
We got one last chance to make it real
To trade in these wings on some wheels
Climb in back
Heaven's waiting on down the tracks
Oh-oh come take my hand
We're riding out tonight to case the promised land
*Bruce Springsteen, Thunder Road
"How do you know I'm mad?" asked Alice.
"You must be", said the cat, "Or you wouldn't have come here"
"Since U Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson (and shouting at the top of my lungs for effect)
Frank Sinatra "My Way"...til the day i die. :)
Not anymore, but for a while it was "Frantic" by Metallica.
Here's some lyrics:
"Desperado" by The Eagles
Have you seen the "Seinfeld" episode where Elaine is dating the guy who is so into this song?
