Hubby and I are leaving on a 14 day train trip on 4 privately owned train cars which will start out being attached an Amtrac train. In California we'll switch to another train. We will have a sleeping compartment which is actually a compartment with fold down beds. (think Harry Potter)
We'll leave from Chicago and go through Colorado, Utah, California, Washington, Montana and back to Chicago.
I've never been on a train before, and REALLY hope that the ching-a-ching, ching-a-ching, ching-a-ching and clickity clacks will not drive me crazy!
Duuuuuuh, I don't know how to do links....told you guys that I needed help (LOL)
I have written about the trip and have some photos of the train on my blog. Go to "My Articles" on the right side and drop down to "Model Trains are rollin, etc)....Scroll down to "Our Train Trip Vacation"...
The photos are of the actual train cars and the sleeping compartment (plus the ever popular...bathroom!!)
Yesterday we went to the Flight Museum in Seattle and loved it. They had a SR-71 spy plane in there. Well my dad was a engineer on that plane so my kids have heard may stories but this was the first time they saw one in person. It was cool since grandpa was undercover for 6 years as they built it so they have heard some of the unpublished stories on the plane.
that alone is pretty fabulous! i hope you were able to get pictures. i'm expecting to see lots when you return.
